Insights into a global health issue
The WHO Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System (GLASS) fosters antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance and informs control strategies for this major threat to global health. We supported the GLASS team in automating how they generate their data visualisations and establish a dashboard complementing the annual report.
Scripted visualisation
Firstly, we helped the team develop dedicated R scripts to make GLASS visualisations reproducible, standardised and easy to generate from the available datasets.
Building a complementary dashboard
The 2022 GLASS report is presented in an innovative digital format with the main findings and messages presented in a single document, which is accompanied by a dedicated R Shiny dashboard.
A wide range of insights
The dashboard visualises global antimicrobial consumption (AMC) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) data from GLASS-AMC and GLASS-AMR surveillance activities. The user can investigate data over time, by country, by bacterial pathogen and by antimicrobial.
Deep dive into country data
The dashboard also includes comprehensive country, territory, and area (CTA) views where users can investigate AMR and AMC data for a chosen CTA.
