Her international work regularly takes her to exciting places around the globe, for example in her role as consultant for the Food and Agricultural Organisation of United Nations (FAO) or presenting at seminars and conferences. Petra has previously held senior positions both at the New Zealand Food Safety Authority and the EpiCentre, Massey University and is also the past Editor-in-Chief of the New Zealand Veterinary Journal. In June 2018 Petra got appointed as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM; Department of Veterinary Population Medicine) of the University of Minnesota, where she contributes to the group’s research and teaching programme. On the weekend you can meet her in Wellington’s eastern suburbs queuing at a café for a flat white or taking the dogs for a walk because no one else will.
